Panthers fall to Kemper Co. 26-6

By JAMES PHILLIPS,

The Morton Panthers hosted Kemper County for homecoming last Friday night in a Region 5 district game, but the team was unable to come away with the win. Morton could not get anything going on offense and fell 26-6 to the visiting Wildcats.

The Panthers were slowed to an extent by playing without some of their more explosive play makers and that showed on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

The Panthers only gained 191 of total offense, and on the lone touchdown on the night Matthew Brasfield carried the ball in to the endzone.

The loss drops Morton to 2-5 on the season and 0-1 in Region 5.

The Panthers will travel to Clarkdale High School this Friday night for their second district game of the season. Morton will face the Bulldogs (3-4) with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
