Statement from Morton Zone
This afternoon, one of our school buses was involved in an accident while law enforcement was pursuing a suspect in a stolen vehicle on highway 13. During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle made contact with the school bus, prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel.
We are grateful to report that there were no injuries, and all students and the bus driver are safe. The bus driver, school personnel, and first responders acted quickly to ensure the safety and well-being of every student on board. All students and the bus driver have been checked by school and emergency officials, and parents/guardians of those students have been notified.
We understand that situations like this can be concerning, and we appreciate your trust as we continue to prioritize the safety of all students.
