Vaccinations to begin for those over the age of 75 next week

“We’ve got a light at the end of the tunnel, but it is still a long tunnel,” State Epidemiologist Dr. Paul Byers said in a press conference last week. Some Mississippians over the age of 75 may begin to see that light shining a little brighter next week as vaccinations become available for them.

Mississippi reported another record breaking single day number of deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday with 85 while officials warned of a post holiday surge and begged residents to stay home and avoid New Year’s Eve celebrations.
