Nowell, Sistrunk to exchange vows
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Nowell are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Dr. Madison Claire Nowell of Brandon, MS to Mr. Tony Lee Sistrunk of Sebastopol, MS. Tony is the son of Ms. Tina Pittman of Forest, MS and the late Mr. Kirby Sistrunk, Jr. of Sebastopol, MS and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Phillips of Sebastopol, MS.
The bride’s maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Dickerson of Brandon, MS and the late Mr. Thomas R. Mitchell, Jr. of Louisville, MS. Her maternal great grandparents are Mrs. Pauline Rhodes and the late Mr. William T. Rhodes, Jr. Her paternal grandparents were the late Mr. Harry Nolon Nowell, Sr. and the late Mrs. Walterine Nowell, both of Louisville, MS.
The groom’s maternal grandparents are Ms. Rita May of Philadelphia, MS and Mr. Marion Justice of Forest, MS. His paternal grandparents are Mrs. Linda Sistrunk and the late Mr. Kirby Sistrunk, Sr. of Sebastopol, MS.
Madison is a 2010 honor graduate of Winston Academy in Louisville, MS and a 2012 honor graduate of East Central Community College in Decatur, MS. She is a 2014 honor graduate of The University of Mississippi Medical Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was employed as a cardiac critical care nurse with UMMC for eighteen months before returning to anesthesia school at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Madison graduated with honors in December 2018 with a Doctorate Degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practice. She is now employed as a nurse anesthetist at UMMC.
Tony is a 2010 graduate of Sebastopol High School in Sebastopol, MS. He enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2008 and completed his AIT training upon completion of high school. The couple met when Tony returned from AIT and attended one semester at East Central Community College before being deployed for active duty to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. For his service during this operation, Tony was awarded The Army Commendation Medal and a Combat Action Badge. When he returned to the states, he returned to school. He also continued to serve as a SGT in the National Guard in the 1/204th Air Defense Artillery Battalion for six and a half years. Tony graduated in 2015 from East Central Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. He was then employed full time at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the Medical ICU and PRN at Anderson Emergency Department in Meridian, MS.
Tony continued his education at UMMC and graduated with honors in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He continues to work for UMMC in the Medical ICU full time and also works PRN for St. Dominic Hospital.
The wedding will be held on May 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm at The Chapel at Livingston, Livingston Church Road, Flora, MS 39071 with a reception to follow in the Livingston Town Square featuring Live by Satellite band from Nashville, TN. After a wedding trip to Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Brandon, MS.
