What is your way?
An important part of our life is spent either walking or moving from one place to another by car, bus, etc. Sometimes we have gone to the wrong place and we try again to reach the desired place. On the spiritual level, the same thing happens when we reach the age where we are aware of our decisions, and by ignoring Jesus Christ, peace does not come to us. That means that the Kingdom of God has not yet been entered.
To reach the Kingdom there is only one route. For humanity it has never been easy to walk to enter the Kingdom since complete security in God is required, what He and His Son Jesus mean, and to fulfill what that implies in our lives as followers and believers.
In the New Testament there are different allegories, but there is one that I enjoy mentioning when telling us that Jesus is the good shepherd. We, his sheep, frequently disperse from the flock and when we want to return to the place where we should be, we do not find the front door, but it is then that Jesus is very important. He says: “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10: 9-10 ESV
In abundance is salvation and eternal life for our soul. Everything requires that we take a certain distance from the world and that we reflect. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:16=17 ESV.
In all human beings there is an impulse to be given new opportunities in many fields that attract us. Many dare us to leave from the place where they are and their dreams are not realized. However, with Jesus, there is always the possibility of being born spiritually and thus being able to enter the kingdom of God. In the beautiful dialogue of Jesus with Nicodemus, Jesus says: “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you. “You must be born again.”
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:6-8 ESV
A new life begins when we wake up following Jesus. When we advance through the years, like the poet, we can say “I confess that I have lived.”
May God bless you.
