Announcements: Morton MHV Club will not meet in town this month. Members will be out of town on an “About Mississippi Tour.” Will resume meeting at Morton Public Library for the August meeting on Wednesday, August 2nd at 1:00 p.m. Everyone is invited/encouraged to attend.
The New Stage Theatre production presentation is “Mean Girls Jr.” scheduled for July 13-14 at 7:00 p.m. and July 15-16 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets: $15-adults and $10-Children. Call 601-948-3533 for reservations, etc.
Congratulations to: Constance Slaughter Harvey on the celebration of her 77th Birthday Anniversary. She was honored with a surprise brunch held at the Homewood Suites 2 in Flowood.
To: The 50 students receiving their High School Equivalence (formerly GED) diplomas at East Central Community College. May this step forward in efforts to be better educated citizens be rewarded with future opportunities for employment and success in their field of study.

Billy and Melinda Meeks report a restful visit with their son Nicholas, spouse Kelly and grandsons Patrick and Ethan in their Pensacola, Florida home recently. They returned in time for a Surprise Retirement Reception honoring Billy. The grandsons were dropped off by their parents to attend the event and stay with Billy, Melinda other relatives and friends for a few days.
Morton MHV Club Activities-June
Continued (May)-The regular meeting in May was hosted by Diane Kirk and Frances Perritt with Karen Ingle presenting the program on creative fabric collage art.
June-Regular meeting with hostesses Sarah Huff and Helen Watkins and program presenter Jean Harvey reporting on the growth and success of the Brittany’s Memorial Closet (formally the Kalem Community Church giveaway program). She presented the devotion and shared her appreciation for the seeds planted by Morton MHV to begin the program. Activities for the month were volunteering at the Memorial Closet/donations, support of: Friends of the Morton Public Library, We Care Missions Thrift Center, redeeming Fairway Food receipts for funds to the club treasury, recycle, members attending the reception honoring Billy Meeks and sending appropriate greeting cards to members and friends of MHV.
