Progress Reports come out February 1st
The Scott Central Rebel Pride Band is busy preparing for their trip to Disney World. They will be leaving after school on March 8th and have several days of fun-filled activities planned during spring break. The band students have been fundraising all year for this trip. They have also been practicing for their parade appearance. They will visit Hollywood Studios, the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and the Animal Kingdom. They will be marching in a parade at the Magic Kingdom. This is an experience they will remember for a lifetime.
The Scott Central National Honor Society held its Induction Ceremony on January 22, 2018. The new inductees are: Magen Burnham, Courtney Derricks, Austin Doughty, Madison Edwards, Se’lah Henderson, Zykerra Kincaid, Tierra Lyle, Chryselynn Martin, Tabitha McDaniel, Jessica Reiss, Ashton Tatum, Tammy Vo and Danny Warren.
Senior, Se’lah Henderson, was recently awarded the Royce L. Money Chancellor’s Award for Academic Excellence, a merit based scholarship, to Abilene Christian University. This scholarship is valued at $68,000 over four years.
Shawanda Matheny, a fifth grade math teacher, was recently selected as Elementary Teacher of the Year at Scott Central.
