Beta Club presented Gold Key Award
The 2018 Scott Central 2A Rebel Football Champions and their coaches were honored last week at the State Capital and presented with a Proclamation recognizing their commitment and excellence during this football season.
Scott Central Attendance Center Junior Beta Club traveled to their State Convention in Biloxi and competed in Special Talent, Songfest Talent, and various academic competitions. Our club was awarded the Gold Key Award for growth and Brennan Gardner won 3rd place in the Eighth Grade Language Arts competition.
The SC Archery team placed Second in the South State Tournament last week. This finish qualifies the team to advance to the State Championship Tournament in April.
Scott Central’s Future Business Leaders of America Club competed in the State Competition this past week. They competed in the district competition in February and earned the opportunity to advance to state. Nic Boswell placed first and Dewayne Cox placed third in the Multimedia and Web Design category. Ashanti Murrell, Alli Hollingworth, and Tamiah Townsend placed first in the Community Service Project for the Center of Hope. Jalen Derricks placed sixth in Keyboarding. Additionally, Nic Boswell was elected as the FBLA State Vice-President and Reagan Lowe was elected as State Secretary. Sponsors of the club are Kimberly Watkins and Tammy McDowell.
The Scott Central Beauty & Beau Pageant will be held this Saturday, March 30, 2019, in the gymnasium. The Elementary Division will begin at 4:00 and the Junior High and High School Divisions will begin at 5:30. Admission to the event is $5.
