Correction: Homecoming is Oct. 10
I want to first clear up an error from my column last week. I mistakenly reported that Scott Central’s Homecoming game would be September 20th. Homecoming will be held on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m.
The Rebels came up short during their first game against Taylorsville. But, we might just meet up again later this year. The Rebel Pride Band, 80 members strong this year, put on a great half-time performance. Also, the team and coaches from the 1999 season were recognized for the 20th Anniversary of their 1A State Championship win.
The Scott Central Rebels will be traveling for the next three weeks. They will play at Morton, at Pelahatchie, and at Florence and will return to their home field on September 20th, when they play Charleston.
A four day “Time of Reviving & Renewal” series began Sunday with powerful messages from Bros. Matt Armstrong and Andy Boles. On Monday and Tuesday, messages were brought by Bros. J. Clark and Joshua Smith. Bro. Reggie Williams will bring the final message for this series tonight. Harperville Baptist will have a 9/11 Remembrance Service on September 8th and will recognize our local first responders and have a meal following the service. Next Sunday will be Harperville BC Men’s Ministry Brotherhood Breakfast at 8:00 a.m.
Congratulations to Mike and Ruth Gaddis on their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Deepest sympathy and love to the Wayne Harvey family on the recent passing of their son-in-law, J.D. Sumrall.
