Rebels advance to second round
After a nail-biting game from beginning to end, the Scott Central Rebels defeated Bay Springs in overtime by a score of 12-6. The Rebels advance to the Round 2 playoffs and will travel to Columbia this Friday to play East Marion.
Spirit Media chose the matchup between SC and Bay Springs as their Game of the Week. The game was available to view live on a number of platforms. Thank you to the sponsors who made this live broadcast possible: Griffin Family Medical Clinic, Hollingsworth Enterprises and Medicomp.
Scott Central is currently in the midst of a 21 day Reading Challenge. Students in grades K-8 are eligible to win bikes. The rules are very simple: a parent or guardian must read aloud with their child for the next 21 days and sign a confirmation form. Winners will be drawn from the completed forms.
Congratulations to both the JH girls and the 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams on their wins over Union last week.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Middle Level State Officer Nic Boswell, an eighth grade student at Scott Central, attended the National Fall Leadership Conference last week in Birmingham, AL. At the conference, Nic learned leadership and business skills to bring back to Mississippi.
