Be thankful for our many blessings
School resumed this week after the Thanksgiving Break. We were blessed with some really nice weather. Hopefully everyone was able to visit with friends and family, enjoy some Thanksgiving dishes, watch some nail-biting football games, and maybe get in a little hunting (for deer or Black Friday deals). We only have three weeks of school until we are out for the Christmas Break. Progress reports will be issued this Thursday for the second nine weeks.
Congratulations to the Scott Central Rebel Football team and coaches on their great regular season and their successful playoff advancement all the way to South-State. They gave it their all, but came up short against Taylorsville. Nonetheless, they are to be commended for their dedication and hard work that enabled them to advance so far. We at SC are all extremely proud of their outstanding 11-3 record and look forward to more good things next year.
Thanksgiving guests of Irene Martin were Steve, Karon and Tara Martin, Kathy, David, Jacob, Jessica, Gage, Rainey, and Gabby Lee, Harperville; Mary Martin, Flowood, Belinda and Scott Barnes, Mendenhall; Don Rutland, Saines Steptoe, Dakota Harvey all from Brandon, Connor and Logan Steptoe from Oxford. Friday supper guests to visit with Raymond Noel, from New Orleans, were Steve, Karon and Tara Martin, Zach Whittington, Belinda Barnes, Anne Steptoe, Glenn and Jayden Pigg.
We loved having our family home for Thanksgiving. Justin, Lindsey and my precious grand-daughter, Emery Rose, came from Zachary, LA. Joseph and Tori Sanders were home from Starkville, and we were joined by Virginia Thrash and Arnold Martinez.
Let us remember daily to be grateful and thankful for our innumerable blessings.
