Family visits are the best part of the holidays
Another Christmas season has come and gone. It sometimes feels like there is too much to do and not enough time with all the programs, events, gatherings, and of course, the dreaded shopping. It can easily feel like a burden.
Jason Tillman, the Youth Minister and a leader at Harperville Baptist, challenged our church to take part in an outreach this year. This event took us outside of our comfort zones and outside the walls of the church and into our community. As is often the case, those who receive the biggest blessing are not always the intended recipients, but those who accept the challenge.
One part of the Christmas Holidays that I really enjoy is the opportunity to visit with my family. Although our lives have taken us in different directions, isn’t it wonderful that we have the chance to connect, even if just for a few hours, with our immediate and extended families. Based on all the family photos posted on social media, I know that many of you feel the same way.
On Saturday, January 4th at 2 p.m., Harperville Baptist will host a baby shower for Colton and Courtney Adcox. They are expecting their son, Rowdy James, to arrive in just a few weeks. They are registered at Target, Amazon and Babylist.-com.
Next Sunday morning at 8 a.m., all men and boys are invited to the Men’s Ministry Brotherhood Breakfast. Additionally, there is a Men’s Bible Study on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. A new six-week study on the Tony Evans book, “Kingdom Man” will begin on January 9th and is open to anyone who would like to attend.
There will be no Wednesday night activities this week, but we will resume with our regular activities on January the 8th.
