All “A” students honored
Scott Central Archery won again on Thursday, February 20, against South Lauderdale.
SC Juniors attended an ACT boot camp last week in preparation for the upcoming test that will be administered on-site this week. Students received instruction in both English and math, along with general test taking strategies.
SC students earning Principal All A’s Roll for the second nine weeks enjoyed a recognition breakfast with the principals, a certificate, and a pop-socket. Thanks to Mrs. Zettie, and all the cafeteria ladies, for providing grits, sausage, eggs, biscuits, cereal, and donuts for the students.
Students honored included Seniors: Cassie Cook, Courtney Derricks, Austin Doughty, Laravia Evans, Tabitha McDaniel, Edward Pierce, Tammy Vo, and Danny Warren; Juniors: Jocey Bell, Eli Cooper, Alexis Guthrie, Hannah Horton, Hannah Kreuz, Tommy Pham, Ronaldo Suarez; Sophomores: Taylor Black, Demetrius Burks, Bryce Chisolm, James Darby, and Bailey Prestage; Freshman: Destiny Burnham, Jalen Derricks, Jose Garcia-Torres, Eli Stewart; Eighth grade: Nic Boswell, Thao Mi Pham; and Seventh grade: Zamir Grant and Chelsea Stewart. Students earning the designation of Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance were recognized last Friday. Congratulations to these very deserving and hard-working students!
Several members of the Educator’s Rising club attended and competed in the state competition recently. Krisdeanna Leatherwood campaigned and was elected as State President. Other students placing in competitions were Kevonnia Butler in Exploring Support Services Careers and Dominic Lacy in Impromptu Speaking. These students have been invited to compete at nationals this summer in Washington, D.C. The sponsors of Educator’s Rising are Tonia Smith and Vanessa Norman.
