Back to the new normal
This week, we Mississippians begin the official transition to return to normal, or our new normal. Harperville Baptist Church members and guests will meet on the grounds for our first face-to-face services since the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. We will gather together this upcoming Sunday, June 7th, at 11:00 a.m., in the fellowship hall. We will follow safety recommendations and procedures to keep our church family as safe as possible.
Often, we don’t appreciate or value things until we have lost them. We have been fortunate to have remote services thanks to Bro. Gary Wyatt and others. We, as well as other churches, have made adjustments to connect and worship with one another. However, we simply cannot replace our inherent need to gather together for worship and fellowship. This crisis serves as a wakeup call of how very quickly our freedoms and choices can be snatched away, especially our freedom to worship. It will be easy to become complacent as our lives return to normal, but let us strive to remember these unprecedented events and appreciate and value our blessings.
