Scott Central games are the exciting games!
Mississippi college games have been pretty disappointing the past couple of weeks, as have the NFL games. If you want to see an exciting game, you should come out to Scott Central this Friday night as they take on Union. Scott Central remains undefeated with a 7-0 record. This team is focused and working hard in their pursuit of a perfect season.
Here are some recent happenings at Scott Central: The Junior Beta Club collected a total of 773 items to be donated to the Hurricane victims. The varsity athletes and cheerleaders participated in cleaning up the grounds of the campus last week. Arrianna Jones, a senior at SC, scored a 30 on the ACT! Seventh graders in Ms. McClendon’s US History Class created monologue scripts and presentations with costumes and props on George Washington, John Smith, Anne Hutchinson, William Penn, Ferdinand Magellan, Christopher Columbus and other historical figures. Gifted students in grades 4-6 are reading the novel, Wonder by R.J. Palacio and are exploring the skills of empathy, compassion, courage, kindness, and character. Students had the opportunity to learn about another culture when grades K-2 traveled to Conehatta Elementary on September 21, 2017 to observe and participate in a production honoring American Indian Day.
Nine weeks test will be given this week starting on Wednesday and our Fall Break will begin the following Wednesday, October 11-13.
Harperville Baptist hosted a shower for two of its very own, Mary Harvey and Russell Martin last Sunday. There were dozens of family and friends in attendance. After the shower, the couple’s truck was literally loaded down and overflowing with gifts. The soon-to-be newlyweds were touched with the outpouring of love and generosity of their church family, relatives and friends. Vows between the couple will be exchanged at HBC on October 28, 2017.
