Every day there is news reporting the corruption of important people in government spheres around the world. They have become so frequent that people no longer pay much attention or do not give due importance to a fact that is relevant to public morals. However, God chose His people and, unfortunately, this one has not been faithful nor has known how to give due glory to our Creator and our Father. Many are proud of knowledge, power, race, or some other external privilege that they may enjoy, yet they ignore that there are many things in which our Lord neither has nor will not participate because He already created us all as equal beings.
Corruption has its origin in the mundane and does not come from the Holy Spirit. It is important to know why someone is accused of or found guilty of a corrupt act because sometimes Christians become permissive and tolerant of the bad customs of political leaders they chose. Few realize that sin is contagious and can produce internal corruption. “And after many days the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there.’ Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and I took the loincloth from the place where I had hidden it. And behold, the loincloth was spoiled; it was good for nothing. The word of the Lord came to me: Thus says the Lord: Even so will I spoil the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem. This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this loincloth, which is good for nothing.” (Jeremiah 13:6-10 ESV)
Sometimes our understanding blinds us and prevents us from seeing the bad and corrupt without feeling the danger that it holds for us as children of God. We do not realize that by being sinners we need to renew ourselves constantly by always coming in our prayers to Christ and the Holy Spirit who was bequeathed to us. Many do not realize that it is in Jesus Christ that there is the force that can defeat any internal corruption. Those who have made a habit of lying and deceiving others can’t gain the trust of the Christian people.
Because our salvation originates in our faith in Christ, so we must give up serving those who are not worthy of our trust. We only obediently serve Jesus and corruption cannot enter to cloud our faith.
We must strive to always go in direct form to the message of God inspired by the Bible, because that will take us away from the darkness that loves corruption. “And this is the judgement: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness more than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (John 3:19-21 ESV)
May God bless you.
