New Year beginning of another era?
Last year should make us meditate on the behavior of humanity and the sad and tragic reality that the world lives in. Those who believe that man can dominate everything, are completely wrong because there are things like the future, that are unpredictable and uncontrollable. History is full of examples of how plagues have ravaged men and caused the deaths of many people.
This virus pandemic has not been the exception, the only difference is that thanks to advances in science it has been possible to create a vaccine in record time, while many refuse to believe the seriousness of the pandemic by not abiding by prevention regulations. In reality, only God knows the future of humanity, and we must remember that He fulfills His promises with the greatest love that can be received.
These times are teaching us that many problems that we are use to having, are going to change. They will be different problems and as serious as the current ones and our decisions will have to be considered consciously. Many refuse to believe the changes in climates in different aspects are being observed, they also refuse to accept the gradual global warming due to air pollution. They accept the destruction of millions of hectares in the Amazon, the contamination of water in the oceans, and the invasion of our privacy by digital media. I personally believe that the Creation is being dangerously destroyed, guided by vested interests by individualism. This individualism has given base to development policies in which the interests of the big companies that dominate the world economy prevail. A handful of powerful business owners make their personal interests of unlimited enrichment prevail. We as people become simple pawns managed by a few superpowers who believe they possess the truth. They ignore God.
However, as Christians we must be different: Jesus is different and did not allow himself to be deceived by the powerful that Satan handles. “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for He will take what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14 ESV. Jesus Christ guides us to the truth and that is more than knowing it. Having that notion in your head is to delight in sharing it with others and never retain it individually. Today it means leaving behind the negative that many have shown in the pandemic and in the elections that caused much division and hatred not yet overcome. Let us seek God and in Him we will always find the truth that a new era in the world needs.
The gifts that are received by the grace of the Holy Spirit reveal to us the greatness of Salvation in Christ. So the future depends on Him and not on individuals. This is a teaching of the Holy Spirit who is ultimately always the Comforter. The joy we come to have with Jesus no one can or will take away.
The wisdom of God has been received by many scientists related to the world of Health, it shows us a path that can be a new era for world humanity, and that implies faith in God and obedience to what He has inspired in the wise. Science never substitutes for God because it is He who inspires and guides. This implies that there are things that we should not do to the detriment of our personal and environmental health.
