Faith = trust and thankfulness!
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost…” (Jude 1:20)
Are we guilty of trying to convince or manipulate God to answer our prayers? Sometimes we pray long prayers, fast, quote scriptures, etc.; but is this to convince our Father? If our answer is yes, we need to re-shape our image of our loving Father.
God isn’t a stubborn/pouty God sitting on His throne with His arms folded needing to be convinced of anything! He is Abba Father (our daddy) who loves His children deeply and knows our every need! The old song says, “He walks with me and He talks with me……” God loves to bless us and confessing scriptures in our prayers will strengthen our faith. The more time we spend thanking and loving Him, the closer we’ll feel to Him, and our faith will become stronger!
In Matthew 9, we read about the woman with the issue of blood who was healed because of her faith in Jesus. Yes, her faith made her whole! She didn’t have to beg, plead or try to convince Jesus. She just knew in her heart that if she touched his garment, she would be healed. Her faith made her whole!
Please understand what I’m saying. Praying, fasting, confessing God’s Word, etc. are necessary in our lives as it strengthens our faith to believe God’s Word; and the more time we spend with Jesus, the stronger our faith will be. Our faith can and will remove those difficult mountains that stand in our way!
Today, let’s begin to change our mental image of God and truly see a loving Father/Daddy with open arms. Sometimes I close my eyes and picture Jesus’ ministry on earth. God’s word says that He welcomed the children to come to Him. I try to visualize them sitting on His lap and at his feet listening, learning, and just being loved. That’s also a beautiful image of God. Remember, John 4 tells us that God is love. Yes, that’s the best description of our Father. He welcomes us into His presence also!
So what is the mountain/giant that blocks your path? Is it your health? Finances? Job loss? Broken relationships? Temper/anger? Loneliness? The good news is nothing is too difficult or impossible for God! He’s on your side!
Yes, the more time you spend thanking God and reading His Word, the stronger your faith will become! Your faith in His Word/promises can and will remove those big/stubborn mountains, and change your present situation in Jesus’ name!
Begin thanking Him for what He has done, is doing, and what He’s going to do in your life. Thank Him in confidence (faith) that He will answer your prayers, no matter how difficult! He loves for you to trust Him!
When your storm hits, remember Prayer changes everything!
Jesus is the answer! Jesus is your answer!
