Here and Now!
Since technology began to digitize all systems began to fall behind and many are already obsolete. Depending on the field there are things that are still being used and they are called analogues, but someday they will disappear. Especially young generations live under pressure and are obsessed with speed. Automobiles, digital phones, computers, etc. “They must” be quick, instantaneous. Young people want everything here and now. In society in general, patience has been lost, few give the necessary time to reflect or meditate before making an important decision. Obviously, all this way of thinking and acting already represents a serious danger for the future development of humanity and the environment in which we all live.
The Creation of God on Earth is being destroyed and contaminated by the human beings who depend on it. The sciences have intensified agriculture making it very efficient, creating new varieties to meet the food needs of the population. But developed nations are consuming more than what is really needed which has produced alarming obesity while in most poor countries they do not have enough to eat. The planetary agricultural production for a couple of years ago does not reach to satisfy the normal needs of the world population. In the field of medicine there are miraculous advances in the fight of many diseases that were once deadly, but at the same time the cost is very high and unattainable for the poor people in the planet.
Advances and development are every day remarkable, but so is the pollution of the environment, and that represents a very uncertain future. Climate changes that many deny only because of economic protection policies of large production companies, and others ignore what is really happening because they also do not realize that the Earth that God gives us is unique in this corner of the Universe. A mentality here and now is selfish and not far-sighted. Few consider that there are new generations that will inherit this environment and that we must take into account today. We live under pressure to make quick decisions and at the same time we are misinformed if we consider that many make important decisions based on falsehoods disseminated in the Social Network. However, God wants our decisions to be wise: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
Each person should consider that, like him or her, there are billions of people living on this planet. The world population exceeds seven billion, and in the United States we are only three hundred and twenty million, that we produce and consume a high percentage part of what the planet does. God loves us all but He sees with despair that the more society is possessed he tends to ignore it when it comes to making important decisions. Many forget that He is a source of wisdom, love and in Him lies the truth, so that He is the only one who can point out the right path to follow in our lives. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
May God bless you.
