Sympathy to the McClendon and Bobbitt family in the passing of Cliff “Owl” McClendon.  His services are incomplete at my press deadline.  Holifield Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements.

Henry Odom Sr. has five living grandchildren. He was the father of 17 children.  He and his sister Amy walked here from North Carolina after the slaves were freed in 1865 and settled in what is known now as Midway.  Maudess Odom McClendon was Henry’s grandchild.  Her now living child is Fannie Jane McClendon Sharp, Cliff was Fannie Jane’s youngest brother and Maudess’ youngest child.   Maudess being his (Henry the First) grandchild now has five living first cousins; two sisters, Lodena Odom of Indianapolis, Nettie Odom Kennedy of Forest and three brothers, Charles McClendon of Forest, Elton and Arlander McClendon of Milwaukee.  This is a legacy that is passing on.
