Melvin and Frisky Roland have had the pleasure of some nice outings recently.  Dr. Marc Measells (MHS Graduate) now a professor on the staff of MSU-School of forestry and his mother, Florence (resident of Morton) hosted a delicious lunch in Marc’s Starkville home, inviting the Rolands along with other family members.

The Rolands were the guests of Katie P. Measells for the “Downton Abbey” Gala held at The Blake-Flowood where formal finery surrounded the residents and their guests, celebrating with champagne, very special finger foods and a formal seated dinner. John (MHS grad) Marler and spouse Amy were spotted celebrating, also with Amy’s mother.

Children Hal and Bobbie Roland of Harvey, Louisiana, son Brian of Morton and Melvin gathered at the Keg and Barrell Restaurant in Hattiesburg in celebration of Frisky’s 40th???(83rd) birthday Celebration.

Morton MHV Club members and guests met at Fellowship Hall of Independence UMC on Friday, December 6 for their Annual Christmas Party.  Cheer, consuming good food and celebration was the theme of the night. Bro. William Beggiani blessed the event and food and delivered a very inspiring/timely devotion. Brian Roland entertained with some history of music both religious and secular which is and has been enjoyed in different cultures on each of the continents around the world, as an assist to Santa in finding his way while Rudolph wasn’t feeling well. Participation in the journey and visit to those continents was enthusiastically encourage by the singing of those favorite songs from those countries, led by Brian.

Special appreciation goes out to Independence UMC for providing the lovely venue for the party and the special projects/planning committee members, Florence Measells, Frisky Roland, Judy Stegall and Sarah Strohm in their efforts to make this a special and successful end to the club year.
