Announcements: The second/final We care Missions Food distribution date for July is Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Fellowship Hall of Morton United Methodist Church, 29 Church Street.  All participants must present required documentation to be eligible to receive food.

Scott County MHV Leader Training/County Council meeting will be held at MSU/Scott County Extension Service facility, 230 South Davis Street, Forest, on July 30 at 1:30 p.m. The program will be on “Fun Products with Honey” Presented by Amanda Blakeney and Anita Webb.  Everyone is invited/encouraged to attend.

The Scott County Livestock Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 18, at the above address, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Subjects to be discussed are:  Updated Livestock Rules, Scott County Invitational Livestock Show and Scott County Livestock Board Officers.  Please call as soon as possible if planning to attend.

The Morton community wishes to welcome the United Methodist Church Pastors who have been assigned to serve their congregations/community for the coming year.  Returning to Christian Banner UMC-Robert Carrol, returning to Independence UMC-William Beggiani, Sr. and new pastor for Morton First UMC, Shelia Cumbest.

Congratulations to:  Ramiah Johnson on being selected one of the East Central Community College’s five Top Beauties for 2019. She is a sophomore English major from Morton.

To: the MSU Women’s Basketball Team on winning the Silver Medal at the Worlds Games held in Italy.   

Prayers and concerns for: Sherry Faulkner Robbins, William Beggiani, Jr. and spouse Hannah Jean on their deployment to Germany to serve their country while stationed there, travel blessings for Pastor Shelia Cumbest as she serves in ministry while on a Mission to Costa Rica.

Sympathy to:  Mike Sturrup, Michael Edwin Goolsby, Marreta White Sparks (wife of MHS graduate, Thomas Sparks), George Arinder and W. M. Garner.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such:  The Church Family of Independence United Methodist Church gathered to honor the marital union of William Beggiani, Jr. and Hannah Jean with a reception and to present cards, gifts and to offer prayers prayers for their move to Germany where they both will serve in the military while deployed there.  Wishes for God Speed and His richest Blessings are offered for their travels.
