In times like these?
Have you had days that a song sticks in your heart and brain and just won’t go away? Today is that day for me. Be very sure, in times like this you need a Savior!
I am sharing in the event someone reading this needs to do some soul searching about their salvation! For someone that does, get in touch with a Christian and talk about this. We live in troubled times!
Don’t know Jesus? You have more to worry about than Lysol and toilet paper!
I know I’m not the only Mom, with grown children, many grans and great grans, who wish we were all in the same building, too many for my house, to be sure everybody is well and safe! God’s got this!
If you have a Eco Dot, or other “smart” device in your house that you give commands to, you might get to hear the following; “Alexa, what’s the weather supposed to be like tomorrow?” It gives you, “Don’t worry about it, you ain’t going anywhere!” Mine would come back with, “Hmm, I don’t know that one!” Seems I don’t speak the same language as it does. Finally, after months of trying, I can get 91.7 radio. It’s been a journey doing that. I had to call the radio station office and they helped accomplish it.
“I told my wife how thankful I was to have someone I enjoyed being quarantined with.” She replied, “It must be nice.”
To all these younger folks, “y’all are finding out why your great-grandmother washed her aluminum foil and saved her bacon grease!”
If you want to impress me with your new car, it better be a food truck! Thinking couple days ago, my car is low on gas. Then thought, not leaving my house!
Just noticed a Facebook reply to how to get a tag? You can do lots of business with Courthouse on line. Check out website (scottcounty.ms.gov)
Barbara Bradford Squartsoff, formerly of this community, who lives in Alaska reported “we are all closed up like everyone else. We are still snowed in as well and waiting for ‘Cabin Fever’ to set in!” She also asked, “Does anyone know how long toilet paper last when frozen?”
The “toilet paper” scare, according to news media, “someone started a rumor that all toilet paper is made in China, which is false, and that there would be no more allowed to be brought in!” Shows how fast a lie spreads, thanks to social media! My opinion, when this crisis is over, America should open our old factories and get off the “Made in China” wagon!
A Walmart truck driver reported, “A delivery was made, to one store, 16 pallets of toilet paper. It was gone in less than an hour. Bottled water was the same! We are ‘running and gunning’ as fast as we can — not eating and taking minimal time off allowed. Please buy only what you’ll need for two weeks.” He added that this is his opinion only, not Walmart’s or anyone else’s.
When this crisis is over, we should declare a holiday for truck drivers on October 4th and call it the Biggest 10:4.
Police to older gentleman, “Why didn’t you report your stolen credit card?” He replied, “The thief was spending less than my wife.”
“My husband purchased a world map, gave me a dart and said, “throw this and wherever it lands, I’m taking you for a holiday — after this pandemic is over.” Turns out, we’re spending two weeks behind the refrigerator! (Just a little laughter to brighten your day!)
UMC made a breakthrough announcement last week, their scientists have developed a test, for the #19 virus, that can give results back in a possible 24 hour period of time. They can test up to 180 per day and hope to increase that number soon. Our Congratulations to them!
It is great to know that Lackey Hospital has an “off premises” testing facility now. Call 601-697-8859 if test is needed.
Mississippi Viruses Growing. From a healthcare worker, “There haven’t been any recoveries reported at hospitals! I work here in Jackson. We’ve had many sick, no recoveries yet. We’re hoping to get some well soon, as we are preparing for a rush of people in coming days and weeks. It’s coming because people are not following guidelines!” (I have a daughter in healthcare in Jackson. This above is from anonymous healthcare worker. However, a nurse grandson, has been exposed to a patient that was later diagnosed with #19 virus. He is considered as low risk and spending time at home for safety reasons.) Please, take the warnings serious and stay home!
“After pulling three double shifts in a row, a hotel clerk was worn out. On one of his work breaks, he went into the hotel restaurant to grab a bite. When his food came, his mind in a bog, he bowed his head and whispered these word to God, “Good evening, Holiday Inn, how can I help you?”
I have been researching the new stimulus bill that was signed this past week. It makes me sick to see the parts that were conveniently put in that has nothing to do with the Pandemic. Such as $300,000 dollars for Sunscreen factory under the guise of reform of “Making OTC products more affordable!” $35 Million to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which is closed!
The average citizen gets $1,200. This is politics in the highest form of underhanded stealing! So, who is the enemy of our Nation?? (This bill contains 1,400 pages)
Church sign: “Six feet apart today is better than six feet under tomorrow!”
Hurricane season is next, are y’all crazy toilet paper people gonna buy up all the light bulbs in case the power goes off?
“Be patient with kids. Don’t scream if they don’t follow schedules (while at home, out of school). Don’t mandate two hours of learning, if they resist it. At the end of this, your kids mental health will be more important than their academic skills. How they felt, during this difficult time, will stay with them long after the memory of what they did those four or more weeks is long gone. So, keep that in mind every single day.”
Coronavirus has turned us all into dogs. We roam the house, all day, looking for food. We’re told “No” if we get too close to strangers and we get excited about car rides!
“My Pillow” in three days, converted his factories to produce 10k masks a day and 50k by next week. USA! USA! On that note, I have felt good being able to sit at the sewing machine and make cloth masks for local healthcare workers. It’s such a small part, but was a needed one! God bless all healthcare workers.
“I was in a long line at 7:45 am today, at the grocery store — that opened at 8:00 am for Senior Citizens only. A young man came and tried to cut in front of the line, but an old lady beat him back into the parking lot, with her cane. He returned, tried to cut in again, but an old man punched him in the gut and then kicked him to the ground and rolled him away. As he approached the line, the third time, he said, “if you don’t let me unlock the door, you’ll never get in there!”
A farewell until next time, “In the sweet bye and bye.” God bless you and God bless the USA.
