Mother’s Day May 10, 2020
Mother’s Day is a day of opportunity to lavish love on our Mom’s. Let’s choose to love all Mom’s: The Mom’s who have a precious baby they can hold in their arms, the Mom’s whose precious babies that are in Heaven and women whose heart desire was to be a Mom, but now faces infertility.
We should not take away from Mother’s Day, but instead give a little extra love to Foster Moms, Adoptive Moms, Single Moms, Widowed Moms and men and women whose Moms are no longer on this earth. — there are so many we can love — and the list goes on as well.
Some of the Moms who need extra love and support (1) The invisible Moms - who experienced pregnancy loss. (2) the Moms who have outlived one or more of their children. (3) the hopeful women who yearn for nothing more, than to be a Mother. On Mother’s Day these fearless females might put on a brave, happy face, but Mother’s Day brings sadness for what might have been.
So, a Special Mother’s Day wish to grandmothers, great grandmothers, aunts and sisters who have mothered other children as their own!
This Pandemic we are in has made a disaster on the closure in death arrangements of loved ones. The six foot rule and no more than 10 at the gravesite, is one of worst parts for the families affected. There has been some that have had “drive by” friends attending. To me, this is a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. God bless all!
Just burned 3,000 calories! That’s the last time I leave brownies in the oven while I take a nap!
Have you ever wondered how the Bible got it’s name? This seems to fit perfectly! (B) “Basic”. (I) “Instruction”. (B) “Before”. (L) “ Leaving”. (E) “Earth”. We have no excuse for not reading the Bible with our time at home now!
“Corona came along, and just like that nobody dies of anything else anymore!” The death numbers in this Pandemic, from what I hear and read, includes every death that occurs. One person reported that his mother died from a heart attack, but the Death Certificate showed Covid#19. The man tried to have this corrected, but was told that all deaths must show this reason of death.
Have you thought that this virus, is the longest lasting “something made in China” ever?
My heart goes out to our farmers! Beef farmers are having to hold their animals because of plant shut-downs! Unless you’ve been a farmer, you can’t understand what this means! Feeding costs and just the depression of failure, not their fault, takes the joy and income out of their lives! God bless! I noticed that in Florida the markets were limiting purchases of meat and milk to (1) each to each customer. Hopefully this will eliminate the hoarding!
I finally got out last week and went hurriedly to the local grocery store. At 7 am there were only three customers in the store. One was filling her buggy with individually wrapped toilet paper! I was surprised that the shelves in the flour/cake mix were very bare. I hear that yeast is nonexistent in some places. Consumption is up 180%. Bakeries are selling customers bags of flour in 25lb sacks! This stay at home order has caused people to get back to cooking and eating at home, which I think is a good thing!
A man decided to paint the toilet while his wife was away. When she came home, sooner than he expected, used the toilet and the seat stuck to her rear. Disgruntled, she asked her husband to unscrew the seat and drive her to the doctor. When they got to the doctor’s office, the man lifted his wife’s coat to show him their predicament. The man asked the doctor “Doctor, have you ever seen anything like this before? “well yes, the doctor replied, “but never framed.”
Exercise block workout. Place block on floor, walk around it twice and sit down and relax. ‘Congratulations, you have walked around the block twice!’
If you burn down the Church building and drive away all the people, you have not disturbed Christian worship! Keeping Christians from entering the Church sanctuary, you have not in the least bit hindered their worship. We carry our sanctuary with us, we never leave it. It is amazing how churches have gone virtual with messages and reaching far more than their own congregation. This has started a new outreach that would never occurred before! I have heard several report that this will continue on. We serve a mighty God!

My son-in-law, Jim Jeffries, is on his long work trip working on airplanes. He called and wanted me to tell that there has been almost no traffic on highways, except 18 wheelers. He has just left a Colorado heading to Nebraska. He is really tired of smelling huge “feed lots” as it seems every 15 miles there’s another one! If you have not been close to one of these, that have thousands of cattle, you can’t know how bad they smell!
2020 is an unique Leap Year - it has 29 days in February, 300 days in March and 500 days in April!
WOW, we are just about three weeks away from knowing everyone’s real hair color!
How did we survive? Our Mother’s wiped our faces with spit on a hankie, not an antibacterial wipe!
If we all started wearing a mask with “TRUMP 2020” on them, how long before experts decided we don’t need them anymore?
