School Prayer Walk
Please make plans to attend a School Prayer Walk on Wednesday, August 1st. Prayer walks will be held at all local schools. With all that is happenings in the schools nationwide we need to join these walks. We need God back in our schools and this is one way to petition God to keep our children and all employees safe for the upcoming school year. “We have not because we ask not.”

The Good Hope School Reunion was held on Saturday night and attendance was down a little. Those present were Sibyl Gordy, Blanche Sorey, James and Louise Johnson, Zellene Posey, Diana Martin, Maybeth Lang, Opal Allen, Bennie and Maude Ware, Peggy and Kendell McDill,Terry and Myra Judge, Rose Mary Latham, Durwood Everett, Don Triplet, Thurman and Elizabeth Harrell. We enjoyed catching up with the lives of those in attendance and the “walk down memory lane.”
Several people owned up to some pranks that were pulled on teachers, reporting on times they got in trouble and being bent over a “straight back” chair to get a whipping with a tennis racket. One said he got a whipping with a ping pong paddle not one time but two times. Remarks were about what would happen now if that type of punishment was given. Wouldn't done any good to try to call home (one thing there were no telephones) and parents would have given them another paddling.
We have been keeping records on our Reunions since 2005. We have had 28 deaths from the records since that time. We all agreed to have our next Reunion again the last Saturday night in July. If you attended this school at any time you are invited to join us next year!
From the beginning of time, I guess, people have been trying to disprove that God created the world. “It’s pretty easy to accept that we don’t know and won’t know everything about the Universe, but we don’t know all there is to know about Creation on our own planet. It is obvious we never will achieve that goal on earth either. Perhaps, then, we should give up the quest to unseat God as Creator of everything and accept that He did it.”(William Perkins)
“Chew on this, I don’t care what Trump did before he took the oath of office, I love what he is doing now!”
I am glad that the New York Mission Team from First Baptist Church, Forest, has made it back home safe and sound. I understand that Dawn Sanders gave a very interesting summation of the work they did. She also told of a situation right here in Scott County where a fellow church member ministered to a needy child this past week. “I think, the fields are white to harvest, can we say, Lord show me?”
“A timely reflection. — I am feeling my age. Now I’m the silver haired class. But on the bright side, I’m still on the right side of the grass!”
Have a God blessed week!
