Never fail
peanut brittle
I love this analogy!
“You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps or shakes your arm, making you spill the coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? Well, somebody bumped into me, of course. Wrong answer!!!! You spilled it because there was coffee in your cup.
“Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which will happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It’s easy to fake it, until you get rattled. So, we have to ask ourselves what’s in my cup? When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility. Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions. You choose! Today let’s work filling our cup gratitude, gentleness and love for others!”
Joke for the week: A blonde was weed-a-whacking her yard and accidentally cut off the tail of the cat, who was hiding in the grass. She rushed her cat, along with it’s tail, over to Wal-Mart! Why Wal-Mart? Hellooo! The blond replied — Wal-Mart is the largest Re-tailer in the world!!!!
Bath done wrong. Long hot showers bad for drying out skin as well as robbing skin out its natural oils! Remedy: Put moisturizer on entire body after lightly drying.
Signs you are dehydrated — bad breath, craving sweets, skin feels dry and cold, you fail the pinch test and you feel lighthearted and dizzy! Remember to drink water to avoid this!
A never fail Peanut brittle recipe, if you follow it step by step!
(1) cup white granulated sugar, (1/2) cup white Karo syrup, (1) cup peanuts, (I like the salted ones)(1) teaspoon butter, (1) teaspoon vanilla and (1) teaspoon baking soda.
Grease a cookie sheet with oil, in a large bowl combine the syrup and sugar —put in microwave on high for (3) minutes, then put the peanuts in the hot mixture and stir and microwave again for another (3) minutes, after this cooking add the butter and vanilla and cook another (1) and (1/2) minutes. Take out of microwave for last time and quickly add the soda. Stir fast and put on cookie sheet till cool.
You now break up in pieces. Eat and enjoy, or carry to someone. (to clean the bowl and spoons used, fill with with soapy water and let soak - or place small amount of water in bowl, put wax paper on bowl, cover with wax paper and heat it then enjoy!
Mother’s Prayer
“Lord, thou knowest better than I know myself that I am growing older and will some day be old. Keep me from getting talkative and particularly from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every occasion.
“Release me from craving to try to straighten out everybody’s affairs. Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details — give me wings to get to the point.
“I ask for grace enough to listen to the tales of other’s pains. Help me to endure them with patience, but seal my lips on my own aches and pains — they are increasing and my love of rehearsing them is becoming sweeter as the years go by.
“Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally it is possible that I may be mistaken. Keep me reasonably sweet. I do not want to be a saint — some of them are so hard to live with, but a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil.
“Make me thoughtful, but not moody, helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all. But thou knowest Lord that I want a few friends at the end.”
Have a blessed week!
