Reminding all that ever attended Good Hope School the Annual Reunion will be Saturday, July 27th, beginning at 6 PM at Penn’s in Forest. Be thinking about what you can add to the conversations about those happy times! Memories are precious so come eat, fellowship and tell some tall tales along with the rest of us!
EBC NEWS: Our youth went on a mission trip this past week to MFUGE in Pineville, La. A woman from Alexandria, La. Posted a Facebook message to Ephesus Church members. “I just wanted to let you know what an awesome group of youth you have. My husband and I were taking our great grandson, who had just turned 7 to his birthday party. (This boy has been through more than his heart should have endured) We stopped at a park to let him blow the candles out of the cake for him. Your youth were there and came and asked if they could sing happy birthday to him. His heart was swelling with joy and I thank your youth from the bottom of my heart. That’s not where the story ends.
“After the party my husband carried the boys back to the park to play in the water area. Some of your boys approached them to see if they could tell them about the Lord. This is a testimony to your youth, their leaders, parents and your church. My husband told me about this, with tears in his eyes, and there’s not much that will do that to him. Keep doing what you are doing and know you are making a difference. God bless every single one of you!”
My heart is touched to have read this and just had to share it with you. We adults need to have them give us lessons on how to witness. It is so easy to invite people to church but hard to start the conversation like they did.
Walter and Ethel: “A helicopter pilot heard these two old people talking about getting a ride on a helicopter. Ethel, Walter’s wife, had told him for many, many years that if it cost $50 dollars, $50 dollars is $50 dollars. The pilot made them a proposal. He said he would take them up free if they don’t say one word while he has them up. They took his offer. The pilot did every kind of fancy tricks he knew, even a death defying one. One word was never spoken. When he finally landed, he turned to the husband and said WOW, I’ve got to hand it to you! I did everything I knew to get you to scream, but you didn’t and I am impressed! Husband replies, Well to be honest, I almost said something when Ethel fell out, but you know $50 dollars is $50 dollars!”
“If someone broke into your home, expected you to feed them, house them, freely use all of the things you worked so hard for, would you be okay with that? Welcome to immigration!!”
“If you must burn our flag, please wrap yourself in it first.”
“Did you know if you have five inches around your tummy you can prevent a bullet from reaching any of your vital organs? I’m not fat, I'm Armored!”
I have just heard of a way to freeze a loaf of bread. Put a paper towel, or paper napkin in the bag before freezing. Leave the paper in it while you are defrosting it. Your bread will taste as fresh as the day you put it in freezer.

A PRAYER FOR OUR PRESIDENT. “We pray that he would look to you; that he would trust in you; that he would lean on you; that he would govern and make decisions in ways that are good for justice, good for righteousness, good for equity, every good path. Lord, we pray that you would give him the grace he needs to govern in ways that lead to peaceful and quiet lives, godly and dignified in every way. (From Pastor David Platt’s prayer for President Donald Trump when he made a surprise visit to McLean Baptist Church in Virginia on June 2nd. a day designated by many Christian Leaders to pray for the president.
We need to all pray for our president as he faces so many that appear to hate our country as well as him. We don’t have to agree with all he says, but through out the Bible you can read where we are to honor our leaders. God, please bless our president!
Have a blessed week!
