We still remember 9/11/01

Where were you when the world, as we knew it, changed forever.  History records this as, “The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terror attacks by Islamic terrorist groups, Al-Qaeda against the United States of America in the morning of September 11, 2001.  Total deaths 2,996 (2,977 victims, 19 hijackers). Attack types; aircraft hijacking, mass murders, suicide attacks and terrorism.”

The number of casualties does not include the hundreds of First Responders and other emergency personnel who suffered the health issues and deaths caused by these attacks. Neither does it include the untold number of families whose lives changed forever in their losses.

I still, to this day, have chills come over me when I remember seeing this as it was happening and even as I write about it. It goes right next to the feeling that I experienced, as a young child, when the radio programs were interrupted for announcing the beginning of the 2nd World War.  President Roosevelt announced this and my Mother began crying.  She knew her two oldest sons were going to have to go to war!  They both joined at 17 years of age. Thankfully they returned, after the war was over, safe and sound.

Printed in 1886;  “ There is room in America and Brotherhood for ALL who will support our Institutions and aid our Development.  But, those who come in to disturb our peace and de-throne our Laws are Aliens and Enemies forever.”

Thankful that the hurricane Dorian did not do what it was predicted to do.  This statement was noted and I just have to pass it on. “See what happens when you name a hurricane after a man!  He won’t ask directions, wanders around lost and leaves a mess everywhere!”

This weekend was certainly a ‘very blessed’ time for Janet and Harry Culpepper and this Mamaw! Brooke Culpepper Crenshaw and husband, Derek Crenshaw’s  daughter, Harper Dallis Crenshaw was born on 8/7/19  at 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19.5 Inches long. This makes the Culpepper’s  a dozen grands. (Of this number the last three were born during the last 14 months and are all girls.) This will be a “Big” event, on Christmas, at the Culpepper household!  I also know a big sister who has been ready to meet this new addition for quite some time!  Congratulations to Brooke and Derek!
