Thanks to all that came out and participated in our Annual Usher’s Day Program that was held on Saturday.  Thanks to our wonderful speaker and former Coffee Talk Writer — Dorothy Smith — for a wonderful message.

Please do not forget about the Annual MLK Walk at the Patrick Community Center to be held on Monday, January 21 at 9 a.m.  Please come out and participate in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Please remember this day is not just a day off from work and/or school but this day is a Day of Service.

Health and Wellness Ministry started at Union Grove UMC on January 14 and will continue each Monday starting at 6.   The class will include information to help spiritual growth and information on diseases affecting our physical body, emotional and mental status.  You are invited to attend.

Please keep these community events in mind:  Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church its 9th Year Anniversary Program of Pastor Sheldon Thomas and family on January 27.  Morning Service will be conducted by Pastor Corey Bender of Midway Free Will Baptist Church and Afternoon Service will be conducted by Pastor James E. Carson Jr. of Mount Hope Baptist Church of Canton, MS.  Lone Pilgrim Baptist Church will host its Annual Family and Friends Day on January 27 at 2 p.m.  The speaker for this event will be Rev. Allen Henderson of New Beginnings Baptist Church of Forest, MS.

Congratulations to the children of our church who achieved Principle’s List — Codi Bobbitt, Makayla Ducksworth; Superintendent’s List — Jeremy Williams; Honor Roll Isaiah Smith, Brittany Hunt, Briana Hunt, Hezekiah Bender.  Hezekiah also received the most improved on testing in his 2nd grade class at Forest Elementary.  Jadarius Williams mastered all his courses.  Noah Lassiter mastered his adjectives in Pre-K.  Jessica Bell received Honorable Mention from East Central Community College and Brittany Hunt made the Beta Club at Scott Central High School.  Great Job everyone, we are extremely proud of you.  And great job to all those who have achieved improvement on you grades.
