Never give up on your dreams
I have truly enjoyed the pictures, videos and other expressions of celebration during Black History Month. We had a wonderful celebration at our church Union Grove UMC. Our youth and members put on a play called “A World without Black People” highlighting the inventions of black people.
Our youth also performed a praise dance to traditional African Gospel Music. It was truly wonderful. Our Youth did an excellent job. Special Thanks to Cassandra Hunt, Lenora Bell, Pamela Smith, Shelia Spivey, Alisha Shepard, Yvonne Shepard, Yvette Patrick and Howard Patrick for helping to coordinate the events. And a Great Big Thanks to all the youth that participated. You all done an excellent job.
With Spring just around the corner, there are so many spring events coming up. Sylvester UMC will have Spring Revival on March 3 thru March 5. Union Grove UMC will host it’s Spring Revival March 10 – 12, Pastor Darren Owens from Lone Pine MBC will conduct Sunday evening service, Pastor Anthony Robinson will of St. John MBC of Newton will conduct Monday Night service and Pastor Rickey Georgetown of Evergreen UMC of Brandon will conduct Wednesday service. Union Grove UMC will also host is Annual Men’s Day Program on March 24 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Larry Odom will be the guest speaker for the event. I would like to extend a Happy Birthday out to some of my church family: Rolanda Hunt, Jessica Bell, Kala Hunt, Mitch Harris, Paul Douglas, Tony Williams and my mom Mary Bobbitt. Happy Anniversary to Yvette and Howard Patrick.
Lastly, I want to encourage someone or anyone to never give up on your dreams. It’s never too late. If God still allowed for you to be here on this Earth, make the best of it. And hopefully by fulfilling your dreams you will also do God’s work by spreading the Good News.
I’m a firm believer that you can do anything. Don’t let people and past traditions hold you back. You can be an inspiration to someone else who has the same doubts. So don’t ever give up.
