MLK Walk a wonderful opportunity for discussion
Thanks to all whom came out to support the MLK Walk sponsored by the Patrick Community Center located in the Steele Community. We had a wonderful time discussing issues that our community face today, some similar to the issues Dr. King experienced. Thanks to the coordinators of events at the Patrick Community Center that always provides an opportunity to celebrate in our community.
Health and Wellness Ministry started at Union Grove UMC on January 14 and will continue each Monday starting at 6. The class will include information to help spiritual growth and information on diseases affecting our physical body, emotional and mental status. You are invited to attend.
Please keep these community events in mind: Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church’s 9th Year Anniversary Program of Pastor Sheldon Thomas and family on January 27. Morning Service will be conducted by Pastor Corey Bender of Midway Free Will Baptist Church and Afternoon Service will be conducted by Pastor James E. Carson Jr. of Mount Hope Baptist Church of Canton, MS.
Lone Pilgrim Baptist Church will host its Annual Family and Friends Day on January 27 at 2 p.m. The speaker for this event will be Rev. Allen Henderson of New Beginnings Baptist Church of Forest, MS.
Sylvester UMC will be hosting it Black History Program on February 17 and Union Grove UMC will host it Black History Program on February 24. Sylvester UMC will also host Movie Night on February 9 at 3 p.m. and Bingo for Senior Citizens on February 16 at 12 p.m. Please come out and join us for these community events.
