Cyberattack
The news of a Cyberattack on UMMC, Friday 2/19/26, forced clinics to close statewide, one exception was the Dialysis Clinic at the Jackson Mall. They announced that the Hospitals and Emergency Departments would remain open the duration of that incident, unless communicated otherwise.
This Cyberattack could be the beginning of a rash of attacks. If the Grid goes down, are we prepared? It is alarming to think about the possibilities!! I certainly hope and pray there is a way to immediately find ways to keep this from occurring!
Downtown City of Forest is certainly coming alive! To see the new apartments, Palace Theater and old Bank of Forest building come alive are treasures restored. (I have memories of the Theater where it had large post in the center seating. If you happened to be late you would have to sit and look around it to see the movie. The movie would have to stop to let it change film to resume. By the way, tickets were 25 cents, popcorn 10 cents.
Gardening enthusiasts...here is you an unbelievable tomato grower story: “Charles Wilber Alabama native, had achievements in tomato cultivation. He set a new record for the most tomatoes produced per plant. It is recorded that his plant yielded over 1,300 tomatoes. The tomato plant was the tallest plant ever recorded, at a height of 28ft. The number produced demonstrated the health of the plant and his skills as a gardener. He credited his success to organic practices, including the use of compost, and natural pest control. This allowed the plant to thrive without the need of chemical or pesticides.
Woman to husband: “I bet you don’t know what day it is? Husband: “Sure I know what day it is. How could I forget? By lunch time the wife received 2 doz. red roses, 2 boxes of candy and a designer’s jacket. When he came home from his work, he was so proud of himself. His wife gave him a big hug and said, “This is the best Groundhog Day I’ve ever had!!”
