Nine-week exams are December 18-21
This week and the Monday of the following week will be the last days of regular class for students this semester. Students in grades 5-12 will take their 9-weeks exams December 18-21, with Friday being a 60 percent day.
There are numerous activities going on this week at SC. On Wednesday, December 12th, the Holiday Program for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade will be presented at 9:00 a.m. On December 13th, the Second Graders will have a field trip to the movies. “A Day with Second Grade” will be hosted on Friday, December 14th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. On Friday, December 14th, the Bound to Excel Banquet will be held at Roosevelt at 11:00 a.m. and the Third Graders will visit the Children’s Museum on Tuesday, December 18th.
Rebel fans recently voted in the MSHAA Grid Iron Text Contest and won $1,000 for Scott Central. Also, Bancorp South recently donated $750 to Scott Central. We have some of the greatest community supporters and fans in the world.
Our seniors are working hard to get ready for life after graduation. Congratulations to Scott Central seniors Philip Bulloch, Victoria Thrash, Diem Mi Pham and Jessie Van Fleet on their recently attained high ACT scores. Victoria Thrash has been accepted to the Shackouls Honors College at Mississippi State. Diem Mi Pham has plans to attend the University of Mississippi and Jessica Darby was recently accepted to the University of Southern Mississippi.
Also, after a recent Scholarship Quiz Bowl competition, two Scott Central Attendance Center students placed in the top three. Jesse Van Fleet and Ashton Tatum placed second and third respectively and were awarded scholarships.
