Students tour JSU
So far, 2023 has been a good year for Harperville Baptist Church. Bro. Jason Tillman, better known as JT, has agreed to serve as interim pastor of Harperville Baptist. JT is no stranger to our church as he has been a member, deacon, and youth minister for many years. Additionally, we have gained four new members, had a baptism and are planning another. We have also increased our church family with the sweet addition of James Wayne King, son of David and Sara King, born January 9th.
If you are searching for a church, we welcome you to visit Harperville Baptist. Sunday school and worship services begin at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. respectively, each Sunday. Every Sunday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. we offer worship arts and Bible study for children and youth in grades 4-12. On Wednesday nights we also offer youth/children ministries beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The second half of the school year resumed last week. We have also been busy with benchmark testing in preparation for the state tests which will begin in just a couple of months. The basketball teams are busy finishing up their regular seasons and our other spring sports are practicing and gearing up to get started. Congratulations to seniors Tayshawn Shepard and Trey Edwards. They were invited and played in the Magnolia Senior Bowl at ECCC recently.
Last week our seniors enjoyed a FAFSA completion event at Jackson State where the students visited with college recruiters from across the state and toured the JSU campus.
