Looking forward to warmer weather
Just when we think we have seen and experienced everything and nothing can surprise us, here comes the Winter Storm of 2021. This one will stand out in our memories because of its duration.
We are accustomed to seeing a little snow and ice with both being gone quickly, usually the next day. Never did any of us anticipate when we left school on February 12, that we would not return until the 22nd.
One of my students told me she saw a quote that said, the winter storm was “2021 showing 2020 how to quarantine.”
I certainly did not make any attempt to leave my home the entire week. In any event, glad to get that behind us and hope we are done with the extremely cold stuff this winter. We are looking forward to warmer weather during spring break in three weeks, March 15-19.
Thank you to Tyson Foods, our district office and our cafeteria for the breakfast provided for the staff on February 12th. Congratulations to Myiah Winters and Bridgett Jobe on their induction into the National Technical Honor Society.
A good indication that spring is on the way is that we have softball and baseball games that will be played this week. Information on upcoming game locations and times are regularly posted on the Scott Central Athletics Facebook page.
Congratulations to Tara Martin and Zac Whittington who were married at Harperville Baptist Church Thursday, February 11. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Gary Wyatt with their parents, Steve and Karon Martin, and Billy and Tonya Whittington as witnesses. Due to the pandemic, a reception for family and friends will be held later.
