Sympathy to the McClendon Family in the passing of Verneda “Ollie” McClendon. Her service was last Saturday at Midway M. B. Church. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangements. Rev. Wesley Griffin delivered the eulogy. Internment was Midway M. B. Church Cemetery.
Her brother Archie was unable to attend because his daughter was ill and could not be left alone or was unable to travel.
Sympathy to the Kennedy Family in the passing of Elder Arther Kennedy. His service was last Sunday at Agape Faith Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Inc. Church. Evans Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements. Elder Jerome Odom delivered the eulogy. His interment was in Agape Church Cemetery in Midway.

Mapp Funeral Home was in charge of her arrangements. Her eulogy was delivered by her son, Rev. Gregory Miller.
East Mississippi State Convention will be held on June 6, 2025 starting at 5:00pm and June 7,2025 starting at 8:00am in Meridian, Mississippi.
Lone Pilgrim District Congress of Christian Education will start June 9, 2025 – June 12, 2025 at 5:00 pm each night. It will be held at Bethlehem M. B. Church with its Lena, MS address. There will be a different speaker each night in the youth department. The speakers are: Ms. Kimberly Kincaid of Morton; Rev. Marcus Mann of Carthage; Mr. Marlo Perry of Buffalo, New York and Mr. Robert Young of Arlington, Texas, Mr. Darrin Gray of Forest.
Ms. Kimberly Kincaid from Morton” How to fight diabetes while you can,” Rev. Marcus Mann graduated from Carthage High School then to Mississippi Valley State University. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors. Retired after an injury. He is the Chaplain at Tyson Foods and the pastor of First Baptist Church in Carthage.
Marlo Perry a graduate of Scott Central Attendance Center, Jackson State University and a six-year career from 1994 until 1999 with the Buffalo Bills. He was a third-round draft pick.
Robert Young is a graduate of Carthage High School and Mississippi State University. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, and Houston Oilers. Retiring as coach in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Darrin Gray the retired principal of Scott County Alternative School.
