Announcements: I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all who have extended LOVE and payers for my Melvin’s recovery from his recent multiple health issues. Your constant support for our family, especially Brian and I, has been of great comfort to us. Those who have driven me to UMMC, brought survival packs of food, purchased meals, or visited, words cannot tell you how much these acts of love have meant to us. We were blessed to celebrate 66 years of marriage plus another five as loving sweethearts. There are very few couples to be SO BLESSED. The Great Physician spoke the final Amen on Saturday, June 22 at approximately 3:00 PM.
Take the opportunity of visiting the Morton Library, where it is cool, for the many activities available for everyone regardless of age, education or interests. Just let the staff know if you have any ideas to offer more.
Prayers and concern for: Betty Eichelberger, Diane “Tootie” Herring, Joe Beeland, Bryant Risher and continued for Danny Cooper and Don Sybil.
Sympathy to the families of: Vernon Marquaine Merchant, Jimmy Lee Hitt, Kermit D. Carpenter,Jr., Theda Padget Alford, Kisa Denise Barber, Gatha Joyce Edwards and Melvin Thomas Roland.
Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Correction - the report on the celebration of Rebecca Farriss’ birthday stated that following the family gathering in Greenwood, she and Jimmy attended church services in Grenada but actually it was Sidon UMC where Bro. Drew Herring is pastor. Drew is also a native of Morton/graduate of MHS and the brother of the Rev. Daniel Herring.
Rev. Chad Bowen, his wife Katie and children Peter and Joan enjoyed a much deserved vacation recently. They report that a trip to Chattanooga, TN was very interesting and restful. Katie has relatives there so visits and a tour of the really fantastic Aquarium was a wonderful educational opportunity for young and not so old. Apparently sharks and sting rays fascinated Peter at 2 years of age, but Jellyfish made him pretty uncomfortable. A special treat was enjoyed at the Klumpies Ice Cream Parlor where relaxing and recovering with a special favorite flavor is a traditional thing to do.
