All MSU/Scott County MHV members are encouraged to participate in the annual 2026 Cultural Arts event. Those wishing to show their art,craft items can obtain criteria forms at the Scott County Extension Office, 230 South Davis Street, Forest during business hours. Items must be registered on Monday, March 30 to be displayed on Tuesday, March 31 at the March Leader Training Meeting Open to be viewed by the public beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Congratulations to: Correction-Mary Lofton member of the MHV Cluster Club was omitted as a model in the recent Scott County 2026 “Fashion Review”. So sorry Mary. You are a very stylish lady always and really deserved your Blue ribbon Award.
To: The Morton Boy’s Basketball Panthers on winning the District 6-A State Championship. “Loud Shout Out” to all members of the team, Coach Marcus Bowie and his staff, the administration and FANS! And to the Lady Panthers for their exciting run for the trophy (loss to Tishimingo County-State Champs) and a very successful season. Thanks to the team members to their coach Perry Fletcher, his staff, the administration and FANS!
To: Gay Nobles of Pelahatchie on the celebration of her 90th Birthday Anniversary. This lady is loved and revered by family and friends alike. She reports dining out for three days, receiving 3 delicious cakes and 5 equally delicious bunt type cakes which were shared during various gatherings at church activities. She also received 43 greetings expressing congrats and love. She told me that those mean so much and they are displayed and read over and over again. Love you “Cuddin’ Gay”.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Morton MHV members were very busy travelin’ “round and about” and enjoying their monthly “Dutch Treat” meal prior to the meeting. They then attended Leader Training at Scott County Extension facility on Tuesday February 22 where Jenn Moorman, representing the Forest Public Library and the many services offered there. Following the program five Morton Club members modeled in the Annual Scott County Fashion Review.
Back in Morton on Wednesday, February 25 they hosted their Community Service Project held at the Morton Public Library. For this event members provided and served a wonderful Soup, Sandwich, Salad, Dessert and Beverage Meal for the enjoyment of members of the local Volunteer Fire Department, First Responders, Police Department and City Employees (including mayor Jimmy Steadman) and several take out treats for those unable to come by. This opportunity to “meet and greet” our special friends included close to 40 members and special guests.
Morton MHV Club Activities-February
Members attended Morton Club and Leader Training Meetings, send appropriate greeting cards to members and club friends, provided Soup Meal Community Service, provided lap robes for assisted living/nursing home residents and shut in’s (courtesy of member Florence Measells), supported Morton Library Care Pantry, donated items (stuffed animals) to Volunteer fire Department, and donated items and volunteer hours to the Memorial clothes closet at Kalem, attended Morton UMC Valentine Banquet hosted by the UMC Men’s Club, attended Lenten Lunch and donated some food treats, collected and redeemed Fairway receipts for enhancing the club treasury.
