Announcements: The Summer Reading Time program at Morton Public Library is now underway from June 6-July 15 on Thursdays. The June 9th program is “Family Night” featuring Curious George to be held at 2 p.m. with stories from Curious George in person, dance, sing and make a craft.
“Family Craft Night is scheduled for June 16th at 2 p.m. with the theme “Ocean” will produce a craft: Make a Mason Jar Aquarium.
June 23rd: Come make a Bubble Wrap Seahorse at 2 p.m.
The Natural Science Museum will be here! On June 30th. They ALWAYS have an interesting show for the entire family.
Shiloh Camp Meeting is in progress at Shiloh Methodist Church from Sunday June 9th-June 11 with services to be held at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Rev. Daniel Herring (graduate of MHS) will deliver the message at a the services.
Friday morning Coffee/Chat/Treat time has resumed at Morton Public Library at 10 a.m. Join the fun and even assist with craft projects in support of making the Christmas season decorations for 2022.
A Retirement Reception honoring Anita Webb, Family Consumer Science agent for the MSU/Scott County Extension Service facility. Everyone is invited to share this occasion with Anita on Tuesday, June 28th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Extension Service building, 230 South Davis Street, Forest. She has completed more than 25 years in this career and deserves an outpour of love and support of her dedication to the state, county and many communities in her service area.
The We Care Missions Food Distribution for June will be held on Friday, June 10 (not 6th as reported…guess the Gremlin got in my computer) and Friday June 24th at Morton United Methodist Church, 29 Church Street from 10 a.m.-12 noon.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Willie Maude Moore was joined by approximately 40 family members, friends and well wishers on her 87th Birthday anniversary (Sunday, June 5) in her home. Traditional cake and treats were enjoyed by all.
Sarah Huff, Randy Rogers, Frisky Roland and Helen Watkins were spotted enjoying the New Stage Theatre production “Nine To Five” at the Sunday Matinee. What a HOOT! The talent was amazing. Following the play, Sarah, Frisky and Helen completed their “Girls Day Out” while dining at Georgia Blue restaurant.
