Central Mississippi Go Tell America Crusade
This non-denomination spiritual crusade, with Rick Gage, is set for October 20-23, 2019. It will be held at Forest High School Football Stadium at 7:00 PM nightly. A “Go Tell America Crusade requires months of preparation in addition to months of follow up to be a success. A successful evangelistic outreach involves hundreds of Christ followers from local churches, businesses and communities working together to reach this area for Christ without concern for who is leading the charge. This is not just a Scott County Crusade, it is for all Central Mississippi.
A Kick-Off night was held at Salem Baptist Church on 8/19/19. The Church hosted a delicious sit down meal and we were treated with Mrs. Pequita Duncan’s famous cakes for dessert. I accompanied my grandson Luke Thompson and wife Tracey to this event. (There were close to 500 present). The first speaker was Billy Shaw, first football-player to spend his entire career in AFL to be elected to Hall of fame. Drafted by the Cowboys (NFL) and Buffalo Bills (AFL). He was born in Natchez. And following a message was delivered by Pastor Johnny Hunt from Woodstock Baptist of Woodstock, Georgia. Rick Gage gave a testimony of his life and explained what things are necessary to present a “Billy Graham” like crusade. When I was a teenager, in maybe late 1940’s, a Billy Graham Crusade was held in Jackson. Me and my boyfriend, Billy Gordy, (later my husband) left Forest to attend. However, when we got close, there was no parking for miles! We then decided to go to the movie. The old saying “Young and Dumb” is all that I can say about our choice!
Old age used to be all in my head, now it’s in my joints too! Speaking of old age, I heard on the news “This elderly couple went to a restaurant to eat dinner and a young waitress came and took their order. Usually the ticket will show the table number that they sat at. Instead of the waitress identifying it that way, she listed it as “two old people.” She gave them their ticket with that on it. The couple was very mad at her identifying them like that. They plan to sue both the waitress and the restaurant. They evidentially don’t have mirrors at home?
If you are tired of getting junk mail, go ahead and open it up. If there’s a return envelope with ‘no postage necessary if mailed in the USA” cram as much as you can in it and seal it up. It should be way overweight. The company that sent it will have to pay the difference. Sometimes it’s the little things that make you smile, I can’t decide whether I should send the one about ‘my request’ for a “handicap scooter or hearing aid?”

Danger, Holy Bible; The Bible can be habit forming! Regular reading can cause loss of anxiety, fear, decreased appetite for impatience and anger. Symptoms include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. If symptoms persist, just praise the Lord!
“You know you are a bad driver when your GPS voice says “In 400 feet, stop and let me out!”
It feels so good to walk into a store and buy anything you want, without looking at the price tag. Thank you, Dollar Tree!
Have a blessed week and please pray for the Go Tell America Crusade that lost people will find Jesus!
