Fund Raising
Fund raising benefit for the late Samantha Smith Heard’s children. It will be at the American Legion Hut on June 16th. Pick up time is 4-6 PM, price is $10 per plate. Dads on duty. When gang violence spiked, parents of a Louisiana High School said, “Not on our watch!” This school experienced brawls in the beginning 2021 - 22. Students were in police custody, one student was charged with battery for allegedly hitting an asst. principal, another for threatening a resource officer, office and staff member’s. That is when one parent decided to do something about what was taking place. He contacted some other parents saying, “We are Dad’s and the best people to care for our kids.” This was when “Dad’s On Duty” was born. The goal is to make sure our kids are safe.
These “Dad’s on Duty’ are business owners, truck drivers, chefs, financial advisers, etc. who sacrifice their own schedules and commitments. Some are father’s, grandfather’s, uncle’s and even men who don’t have children at the school. Since they have arrived on campus, fights have drastically declined and gang battles have stopped completely. They interact with kids, like they are their own kids. The dad’s make sure that every kid has an adult to turn to in times of crisis. They have partnered with other father’s in other parts of the country, including Jackson, MS. They’d like it be the same as the PTA, something that is in every school.
To all those kids that walked out of school to protest guns — these are the shoes of the Jews, that gave up their firearms to Hitler. They were led into gas chambers, murdered and buried in mass graves. Pick up a history book and you’ll realize what happens when you give up your freedoms and why we have them.
You know what is sad? They all are saying “Pray For Our Schools,” but don’t want God back in our school’s. (Evil does not exist within a gun. It exists in the minds and hearts of those who pull the trigger for evil purposes!)
We are about $1 dollar away from people missing work because they’re out of gas. Lord, stretch my gas the way you did the two fish and five loaves of bread.

All of your days have already been written in God’s book. When you go through a disappointment, don’t stop on that page. Stay the course, keep believing. You may be tired, discouraged and frustrated, but don’t give up on your future. Our God is faithful.
