This past Friday night the Sebastopol Bobcats went on the road as they traveled to Walnut Grove to face the Leake County Gators in a district matchup. The Bobcats entered the game with a 1-2 district record while their opponents the homestanding Gators entered with a district record of 3-1.
The Leake County Gators would rack up 457 yards on the ground and over 500 yards of total offense while soundly defeating the visiting Bobcats 28-12. The loss dropped Sebastopol to 2-5 on the year and 1-3 in their district.
Sebastopol’s senior RB, Javiers Johnson gained 114 yards on 20 carries and scored 1 TD, junior Reggie Shepard scored the only other TD for the Bobcats.
Leake County’s senior RB, Jaleen Morgan had a whale of a game as he gained 338 yards on 21 carries and scored 3 TDs in the win.
This Friday, the Sebastopol Bobcats will face Hamilton Lions at Bobcat Field. The Lions are 1-7 on the year and are looking to earn their first district win. Sebastopol will have a good opportunity to get a home win and will look to take advantage.
Sebastopol will play their first home football game in almost a full calendar month. The game is set to kickoff Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
