Two swarms of insect-themed teams came together last Friday night. The Lake Hornets stung their way to victory in their away game at Union against the Yellow Jackets. Lake decimated the Union team in a shutout win of 34-0, which improved their record to 6-1 and their 2A division rank to 18.

Recalculating the Dog Days of Summer

According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, the Dog Days of Summer should have ended more than a week ago as Almanac writers say they officially run from July 3 until August 11. If the last week are so is any indication, it seems to me that their editors need to recalculate that time frame.
